HYPIEND was represented at the XI Food Safety Conference, organised by the Spanish Association of Toxicology (AETOX) and held on 12 March 2026 at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences of the University of Valencia.
During the event, Ágata Llobet-Mut from HYPIEND partner ProtoQSAR shared information about the project, its objectives and its multidisciplinary research into the health effects of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs).
The conference brought together the food safety and toxicology community to discuss current research and emerging challenges in the field. The programme included a keynote lecture on the risk assessment of novel foods, as well as oral and poster presentations by researchers and toxicology professionals.
HYPIEND investigates how exposure to EDCs and chemical mixtures may affect human health, particularly during sensitive stages of development. The project combines computational and experimental approaches with human intervention studies to improve understanding of endocrine disruption and support strategies to reduce exposure.
Participation in the AETOX Food Safety Conference provided an opportunity to increase awareness of HYPIEND among specialists working at the interface of chemical safety, toxicology and human health, and to connect the project with relevant scientific communities in Spain.
