Eurecat presented HYPIEND project behavioural-change platform, designed to provide recommendations for reducing everyday exposure to Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs), at an internal seminar of the Exposome Hub in Barcelona, Spain, on May 22, 2025.
The Exposome Hub, an initiative led by Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), aims to foster interdisciplinary research and innovation around the exposome, a concept that refers to the totality of environmental exposures individuals face throughout their lives and their effects on health.
Laura Sistach, researcher at the Digital Health Unit of Eurecat, gave a talk titled “HYPIEND Digital Tool: A Personalised Platform for Reducing EDC Exposure.” During her presentation, she introduced Eurecat’s role in the HYPIEND project and outlined the key challenges associated with EDC exposure, including what endocrine disruptors are, their impact on human health, and how they relate to the exposome. The presentation also underscored HYPIEND motivation to address the need for personalised tools that empower individuals to identify and reduce their own EDC exposure.
The HYPIEND Digital Tool offers personalised, science-based guidance to support users in making practical lifestyle changes. By leveraging behavioural insights and gamified engagement, the platform empowers individuals to take meaningful action in reducing their exposure to EDCs, helping to mitigate potential health risks associated with these chemicals.
