HYPIEND computational approaches to endocrine disruption presented at SPRINT-AIDD 2026

ProtoQSAR PhD Candidate Ágata Llobet-Mut presented HYPIEND research on computational strategies to predict the effects of endocrine-disrupting chemicals and their mixtures at SPRINT-AIDD 2026 in Bettona, Italy.

HYPIEND research was presented at SPRINT-AIDD 2026, an international training event bringing together researchers working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computational modelling and molecular sciences. The event, held in Bettona, Italy, from June 7-10 2026, gathered around 45 participants from the research community.

Ágata Llobet-Mut from ProtoQSAR presented Computational strategies within the AOP framework for predicting the effects of endocrine-disrupting compounds and their mixtures.” The contribution focused on computational approaches being developed to improve the assessment of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), including the challenge of predicting effects arising from exposure to chemical mixtures.

The work combines three complementary areas. First, it addresses the development of consensus Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs), including the harmonisation of key events and the organisation of AOP information into structured databases. Second, HYPIEND is exploring chemoinformatic models, including SAR and QSAR approaches, to predict receptor binding, agonism and antagonism across endocrine-related targets such as estrogen, androgen, thyroid, thyrotropin and glucocorticoid receptors.

By presenting this research at SPRINT-AIDD, HYPIEND connected its work on endocrine disruption with a community specialising in AI-supported and computational approaches, contributing to the exchange of methods that can support more efficient and mechanistically informed chemical risk assessment.
