The HYPIEND project was featured at the International Conference on Maternal and Fetal Medicine 2025, an international scientific event organised by Extempore and dedicated to advancing knowledge on maternal, fetal and early-life health.
Within this international framework, HYPIEND was presented during the session “How to avoid exposure to endocrine disruptors in pregnancy”, delivered by Dr Alicja Baska from the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Education (CMKP/CPME). The presentation addressed the growing scientific evidence on endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and their potential impact on fetal development, pregnancy outcomes and long-term health. Particular attention was given to pregnancy as a critical window of susceptibility and to practical, evidence-based recommendations to reduce everyday exposure to EDCs.
The conference brought together clinicians, researchers, and public health professionals from across the globe to discuss evidence-based strategies to improve pregnancy outcomes and protect vulnerable populations.
This year’s edition demonstrated a strong international reach, with 554 registered participants from 52 countries worldwide. The conference also achieved significant online engagement: the live stream peaked at 195 concurrent viewers, and 324 participants viewed the recorded sessions.
By participating in this high-level conference, HYPIEND reinforced its commitment to translating scientific research into actionable knowledge for healthcare professionals and policymakers. The strong attendance figures and broad geographical distribution of participants confirm the relevance of HYPIEND’s mission to protect sensitive populations from harmful environmental exposures and to support healthier pregnancies across Europe and beyond.
