HYPIEND presented at the 71st Spanish Association of Paediatrics Congress

Paula Sol Ventura and Raquel Rodríguez, researchers at IGTP, carried on an oral presentation titled “Understanding and preventing the impact of endocrine disruptors in sensitive populations”
On June 6, 2025, HYPIEND partner Germans Trias I Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) showcased the project at the 71st Congress of the Spanish Association of Pediatrics (AEP), that took place in Valencia, Spain, on June 5-7, 2025.

The AEP Congress is a prominent event that brings together paediatricians from across Spain and other countries to share knowledge, experiences, and innovations in the field of child health.
Paula Sol Ventura and Raquel Rodríguez, researchers at IGTP, carried on an oral presentation titled “Understanding and preventing the impact of endocrine disruptors in sensitive populations”. She outlined the project’s objectives and methodology, focusing on targeted intervention strategies aimed at preventing exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) during vulnerable stages of development.

The HYPIEND project aims to understand the effects of EDC mixtures on the function and epigenetic programming of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis (HPA), and to develop intervention strategies that reduce exposure and its consequences during the two most vulnerable stages: the perinatal period and preadolescence.

The congress featured a high-level scientific program focused on the current challenges in pediatrics, the use of new clinical technologies, recent research, and a comprehensive approach to pediatric patient care. This event represents a key opportunity to strengthen pediatrics in Spain through the commitment and passion of the entire medical community.
