On 27 June 2025, HYPIEND research on bioanalysis of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) was presented at the 15th BioDetectors Conference that took place in Genoa, Italy, from 26 to 27 June 2025.
On a session on contributions of biodetection for global issues, Ágata Llobet-Mut, researcher at ProtoQSAR, delivered a presentation titled “Understanding and preventing the impact of endocrine-disrupting chemicals in the framework of the HYPIEND EU project”. The talk focused on HYPIEND research on computational strategies to predict how EDC levels in humans affect the hypothalamic-pituitary axis and related hormones.
Additionally, the presentation introduced the ENKORE Cluster, a cluster of five projects —EDC-MASLD, ENDOMIX, HYPIEND, NEMESIS and MERLON— that study endocrine disrupting chemicals and their health-related effects, with the aim to optimise synergies, strengthen collaboration, avoid overlaps and increase the impact of the individual projects.
The BioDetectors Conference organised by BioDetection Systems (BDS) brought together scientists involved in the development and application of in vitro effect-based bioanalysis technologies. The conference covered a variety of topics and was a unique opportunity to delve into detection strategies used by different research groups and companies.
