The HYPIEND project kick-off meeting was held on January 2024 in Barcelona with the objective of understanding and preventing the impact of Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDC) on the hypothalamus-pituitary axis during pregnancy, breastfeeding and prepubertal children.
Coordinated by Eurecat, this multidisciplinary project will use advanced computational toxicology methods to create a methodological framework. Using public data and state-of-the-art data analysis techniques, it will define exposure patterns to multiple chemicals and evaluate their impact on the neuroendocrine system.

Non-invasive biomarkers of disruption of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis will also be identified, and two clinical studies will be carried out at European level with pregnant women and their offspring, and children in prepuberty.
This Horizon Europe project is executed thanks to a fruitful collaboration of 14 partners from 8 European countries. HYPIEND consortium is formed by technology centres, universities, research institutes, hospitals, and companies.
